Nonprofit foundations provide the seed money to develop progressive programs, pilot studies, research and public relations campaigns to promote the idea in the public and government realm. This is the case with the Goals 2000 and School to Careers programs. First lady Hillary Clinton has done vast work in the arena of education before coming to the White House. In order to fight this socialistic and totalitarian approach to education, we must understand how it developed. The links that immediately follow demonstrate the power of these organizations.

Carnegie Foundation

• The Carnegie Foundation This foundation identifies itself as the grant making foundation. Find out what kind of grants they make. 
• The Corporation Programs of the CarnegieNote the emphasis on education. 
• Carnegie Publications Many of these publications can be obtained by searching ERIC at the DOE link. 
• Carnegie Programs Which Include Early Childhood Be sure to check the science and technology papers. The future plans seem to point towards the dumbing down of our universities and their Ph.D.D programs. Watch the rhetoric from various foundations. 
• Carnegie Recent Publications Spend time reading these publications. You will more than likely hear these sentiments repeated before congress, in the press, and at the White House.

The MacArthur Foundation

• MacArthur Foundation Mission Statement Egalitarian would be a good word to sum this foundation's mission statement. One might say to this foundation 'after you and then I may think about it' as a reply to their lust to equalize outcomes. Do view the summary of grant totals in 1994. Perhaps it is time to tax the non profits as we tax capital gains on the middle class as they have a lot of money to give away. Perhaps a flat tax or national sales tax would look a lot more attractive to them. 
• MacArthur Foundation Education Program Be sure to check out the Chicago Education Initiative link on the page. They are doing a study for ten years. How about considering school choice? 
• MacArthur Community Development Initiative You will find a strong reference to School to Work along with the idea of jobs creation to get people off of welfare. This rhetoric was seen in San Jose Calif. by a local community organizing group which was pushing school to work. People are often misled by "mutant theory" practices which assign euphemisms like 'careers' instead of jobs. Those selling School-to-work are not talking about the dumbing down of our society. 
• MacArthur Foundation Community Initiative Program Links Check these out. Many of these links support progressive liberal causes. The Policy Research Action Group does research for progressive liberal organizing groups. Examples of progressive community organizing groups in California are ACORN and San Jose's PACT. These two particular groups have received support from the Campaign for Human Development, the Catholic Bishops' social justice fund. Many of these types of groups have been against parental choice in education .

The Benton Foundation

• About The Benton Foundation As you can tell from the Benton Foundation's Home Page, they are the non profits nonprofit public relations think tank. They are sponsors of Children First who have advocated a progressively liberal position before the government on various issues including support of the Clinton Health Care Plan. This is a very interesting group of web pages. 
• Coalition For America's Children Notice the partnership with ABC news. Children First is also mentioned. Could ABC News be questioned as to whether they are reporting the news or making the news? You decide. 
• Benton Foundation Media Guides These inform non profits about how to get their message out through various media. Someone should warn Rush, Mike Reagan and others. 

The Aspen Institute

• The Aspen Institute This nonprofit institute brings nonprofit foundations, government officials and business people together to discuss policy, What extent does this promote government decisions out of the sight of the people. Note the references to education. 
• Aspen Institute California Nonprofit Research Program This research program studies the California non profit sector. Note who serves on the board for this project. 

Joint Venture Silicon Valley

• About Joint Venture Silicon Valley Joint Venture is a webbed network of nonprofit, business and government all unto itself. This is definitely a place for Californians to spend some time viewing in order to ask questions. Where is the citizen, taxpayer and private property owner in the scheme of this organization? 
• Joint Venture Silicon Valley Education Initiative- Challenge 2000 Schools Are ventures such as these struggling for more government and business power in the education system and attempting to take power of parental rights in Education.
