Professor of Flute and Performance -- Oberlin Conservatory of Music
 

Education:
French Baccalaureat with honors in experimental science, 1952; graduation from Conservatoire National Paris, with prizes in flute and chamber music, 1954.

Honors and Awards:
Winner of all major competitions (Moscow 1957, Prague 1960, Geneva 1961, Munich 1960 and 1964)

Performances:
Annual solo tours of U.S since 1962.

Professional Affiliations:
Principal flute: Orchestre de Paris (1960-90) under music directors Munch, Karajan, Solti, and Barenboim. Principal flute: Orchestre de la Societe des Concerts du Conservatoire, 1962-1967. Succeeded Jean-Pierre Rampal as Professor, Paris Conservatoire (1982-1990).

Published Works:
Consulting Editor and monthly column, Flute Talk (The Instrumentalist ) . Published Une Simple Flute in France, October 1996. English version to be released in 1999 by Oxford University Press.

Recordings:
Solo and chamber music repertoire on album and compact disc for EMI, Angel, Flute Traversiere, DGG, and other labels.
