Conservatoire national supérior de musique de Paris

Classe de Musique de Chambre - 1971

Professors - Pierre Pierlot (renowned French oboist), standing in center with Isabelle Chapuis, flute (in her mini-jûpe).

In addition, the class was taught by Prof. Lancelot (Principal Clarinet, Orch. nationale de Paris) -- unfortunately, not in photo.

Besides Isabelle Chapuis, others in class include:

Bernard Jean - oboe

Genviève Amar - flute

M. Ripoche - oboe

Philippe Sabonet - flute

Eva Estiguer - piano

M. Lecherc - bassoon

M. Lepogamme - Horn

M. Py - oboe

Pierre Pierlot was an utterly charming man, in addition to being the foremost virtuoso oboist in France at the time.  He was a frequent soloist with Rampal in chamber music and double concerti.  His son is a famous flutist -- Principal Flute at the Orchestre national de France.  Lancelot, Principal Clarinet with the Orchestre national de France, was more an interpretive artist than a virtuoso.  In this class, we covered the repertoire of woodwind quintets and contemporary music.
