PLEASE HELP ME IDENTIFY THESE FAMOUS FRENCH MUSICIANS!
Mystery Musician No. 1. No, it is NOT Nigel Bruce, the actor who played Dr. Watson opposite Basil Rathbone in countless Sherlock Holmes movies. This photo once belonged to pianist Isidor Philipp. This gentleman is probably a great pianist. I am guessing he is Moritz Rosenthal, pupil of Franz Liszt. Does anyone know?

Marcel Samuel Rousseau, 1913
Here is an unusual case. Among Mme. Boynet's papers, I found this elegant photograph of French composer Marcel Rousseau. I even found some pages of his music in manuscript (impressionist, very interesting.) But I can't find out anything about this composer. No one seems to know who he was, what he wrote, or what happened to him. Can anyone out there help? Who was Marcel Rousseau?
